St. Louis, Missouri – April 17th, 2017 – Book Retriever announced today that it has become an official Clever partner, bringing classroom library management to K-12 schools across the country. Districts who use Clever to manage their student information systems can now integrate with Book Retriever. This gives their teachers control over their classroom libraries, dramatically reducing lost books and providing leveled book selection tools for supporting reading and literacy.

We have been talking to a lot of our Book Retriever teachers, and one of the biggest problems they face with their classroom libraries are lost books. Our teachers are reporting that their loss rate is anywhere from 10% to 20% per year! This is a huge expense, not to mention the hassle of replacing books, and of course, the impact on the students.

I’ve had many teachers even tell me they have no idea how many books are lost simply because there is no good way to track them. They know they lose a bunch, but just don’t know how many. They don’t know a book is lost until they look for it and find it missing.

Schools often struggle to fund the purchasing of books for their classroom libraries, and there are numerous resources for helping schools find those funds through grants and other programs.

We have compiled a list of organizations that offer grants for literacy and education. This list is not all-inclusive, and if you know of other resources, please send them to us and we will help get the word out.
